AMAZING GRACIE, is a true story of a young girl who survives the shocking destruction of her poor-yet-loving family, and rises to become a woman of strength, courage, and tenacity. What lies beneath Gracie Dodson Haibach’s sophisticated, wealthy, refined, high-society exterior has been a closely guarded secret for nearly a century, and is only revealed when her grandson begins researching his family’s history and uncovers his grandmother’s true past; a past filled with tragedy, betrayal, deception, and unimaginable abuse. But the true secret revealed in AMAZING GRACIE, is that at its heart, it is really a story about love, friendship, strength and survival.
On her way to meet her future husband, Grace Dodson has a nightmare. Riding in a first-class compartment on a train from Pittsburgh to Erie, she is awakened from a sound sleep by the voices from her past. At this critical juncture in her life, she is haunted by memories that she cannot suppress.
Grace is in love and the stakes are high: her soon-to-be fiancé John Haibach has invited her to Erie to meet his family. And John doesn’t know that the society belle with whom he fell in love is not really from a good Boston family, as she’d led him to believe.
How Grace Dodson came to be on that train to Erie, the city of her nightmare childhood, is the story of AMAZING GRACIE. We follow the trials and tribulations of that taxing yet wonderful weekend, which culminates in a marriage proposal. Balanced with periodic flash backs, we learn the harsh reality of Grace's real identity.

MICHAEL HAIBACH is a graduate from Pepperdine University, now retired, and living in West Hollywood, California.
Most of Michael’s career has been in marketing and advertising, on both the agency and client sides of the business. He began his career with senior management positions within the financial services industry in Los Angeles.
He then worked for a variety of industries as an in-house marketing director, as well as holding senior management positions with some of the leading advertising agencies in Southern California, successfully elevating the profitability, visibility and performance of a wide variety of industries — from financial services, skin-care & fragrance, airlines, higher education, city governments, non-profits, and even pizza for a national restaurant chain.
Although Michael has written much advertising copy, and successful marketing and promotion plans over the years for well-known international companies, this is his first literary work. Inspired by his grandmother.

A Note from the Author
We all know it’s the people, experiences and events that shape us into what and who we eventually become. And yet, Grace Dodson Haibach, my grandmother, moved past all that. That in essence is what I learned from her life: we are not defined or limited by our experiences; we each have the ability to choose how we deal with what fate hands us.
It’s those decisions — those choices — that either hold us back or open new doors to a better future.
